Mandate

The SBA team (made up  of people from EN/ABA, EN/LE, EN/LI) is responsible for the design, installation and maintenance of the beam lines, downstream of the primary targets, that serve the North area of the SPS and the East area at the PS. It also exploits the application software for beam line control. The beam lines serve a variety of tests and experiments. The team is responsible for the liaison with the users of these facilities and it provides support for their installation and infrastructure. The team guides the activities of the EA operations in BE/OP and the EA instrumentation section in BE/BI. The team is also responsible for the exploitation of the CNGS facility and assists the in the maintenance and technical support of AD, ISOLDE experimental areas.
